My Opinion On Torture

I am against torture for the reason that the victim not only suffers in that moment, but for the rest of his life. Also because torture doesn't always work, it only works if the victim gives the information. I also believe in the so called "Ticking Bomb" scenario, where someone is allowed to torture in order to save lives for example a bomb threat. Torture is wrong and will always be wrong unless it is used to save Innocent lives.

The Wrongs Of Torture

Torture is inhuman because it inflicts unspeakable pain upon the body of a fellow human being. Torture is wrong because not only does it effect a person physically, but it effects them mentally. It Inflects so much pain that the victim will be scarred for the rest of their lives. For example the CCVT (Canadian Center for Victims of Torture) explains that the victims suffer from many problems like anxiety, depression, nightmares, etc. Torture is an inhuman act that shouldn't be supported.

The Rights Of Torture

Torture is basically used as interrogation for getting information or a confession, so theres not many things positive about it, but that. Using torture enables the torturer to get the information he seeks or the confession. These are basically the only rights of torture.

The Rights And Wrongs Of Torture

What is torture? Torture is any act by which severe pain or suffering, whether physical or mental, is intentionally inflicted on a person for such purposes as obtaining information or a confession. Torture can result in depression and post Traumatic Stress Disorder. For example, a person who went through torture in Guantanamo Bay suffered greatly. "Never have i seen a place where so many resources were invested to break an individual's Humanity", said Dr. Allen Keller, a doctor who specializes in effects of torture.
